Burn It Down Films
An identity and a website for an independent film company: a hand that carries the fire, and a site that opens on a line of flame and builds the logo out of it as you scroll.
Burn It Down Films exists to support storytellers through independent film, the kind of work that doesn’t conform to the status quo. They needed a mark first and a home second, and both had to feel like the films: human, a little dangerous, and unmistakably someone’s own. We built the identity from a feeling, then built a website that burns.

The Mark.
Before the fire, there was the feeling. The identity started from a note that opened on a line often credited to Maya Angelou: people will never forget how you made them feel. Three words held the brief—human, dangerous, authored—and the hand became the origin point. It makes things, it protects them, it carries the fire and hands it to the audience. The lockup stacks BURN, IT, DOWN and FILMS over that hand and its fireball, and the story went to the client as a presentation, from the first feeling to the final lockup.

The Fire.
The site opens on nothing but a line of fire along the bottom of the screen. The words “Human, dangerous, and authored.” rise out of the ashes a line at a time, with a red scroll pill under them; scroll, and the pill rounds into a small ball of fire and climbs away. Then the scroll builds the logo behind the flames, a word at a time, with ash flying up out of the fire into each piece. Before a word is built, the firelight catches it: when the flames jump, you glimpse the logo in the smoke before it’s there.

The Handoff.
When the hand and its fireball are built, the whole line of fire draws in under the hand, climbs it and goes into the ball. The floor goes dark and the fireball burns on in the hand, flaring when you scroll. Then the logo leaves the way it came: each piece burns away from its base in the same order, the fireball last, and the rest of the site comes up out of the black. The mission, Anton and the films sit over moving footage, with the film titles knocked out so it plays through the letters.

The Launch.
Every frame of the entrance is drawn live in WebGL, with its own phone version, a reduced-motion version and a keyboard path past the fire. It launched October 9, 2026, on burnitdownfilms.com, hosted on the SIDES server with the company’s Microsoft 365 mail untouched, and a shared link opens on the logo burning.
